Video: Jamal Murray unbelievably wastes time in dying seconds vs. Kings

Jamal Murray, Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets lost a close contest against the Sacramento Kings, 100-97, on Saturday night but its bizarre ending is primed to hog more spotlight than it should — no thanks to Jamal Murray.

The Canadian point guard is arguably the team’s top playmaker. In situations where the Nuggets need a bucket, the ball understandably goes to Murray. However, his decision in the game’s dying seconds proved to be extremely costly and mind-boggling at the same time.

No offense to Harrison Barnes, who covered Murray in the final play, but he’s not regarded as a lockdown defender, making the former Kentucky Wildcat’s hesitance all the more dumbfounding.

In spite of the defeat, the Nuggets remain one of the top teams in the NBA with a tight grip on the Western Conference’s second spot.
